Literacy Anecdote
My first memories of writing come from time spent with my mother before I was old enough to attend school. We used to play what she called games, so that I would participate, that had words written on notecards of household items. Each card would match up to something in the house, and I had the daunting task of doing the matching. After I matched all of the items correctly, I then had to write the name of the item on the card underneath my mothers writing. This was my first experience of writing, and once I began school it became very interesting to me.
